Amy Witt is the mother of Marissa's Missions. In 2005, my daughter Marissa was born with a rare chromosome disorder. She has Autism, Intellectual Disability and other various health impairments. I was inspired by Becky Large, Founder of CAN-Champion Autism Network, to start coordinating events in Central Virginia. I love being able to give special needs families the ability to spend time together. Being able to see a mother's tear of joy, father's smile and a happy child/adult is one of the greatest rewards. Partnering with Dr. Hale, Marissa's Missions will train and educate businesses in the community as well as providing events for special needs families in Central Virginia. In addition, Amy works for Campbell County Public Schools assisting and supporting families in need. In her free time, she enjoys Crossfit at Align and traveling.
Dr. Amy Hale currently serves as Assistant Superintendent of Instruction for Campbell County Public Schools. She has sixteen years of experience in public education. Dr. Hale is passionate about student
success and instruction, as well as advocating for teachers and the community. In her time outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and dog as well as running. Dr. Hale was Marissa’s high school principal for 3 years. Marissa was such an inspiration to her that she
even considered getting Marissa a school radio to assist. When given the opportunity to help found Marissa’s Missions, she gladly accepted it. She hopes to continue to expand opportunities and events for
special needs families in the Lynchburg area. the mission of your organization.
